In October 2014, we announced we would provide £390M to Almacantar for the forward purchase and development of One and Two Southbank Place.

The loan facilitated the development of two office towers. One Southbank Place is a new landmark headquarters for Shell International’s downstream business whilst Two Southbank Place was a speculative office and retail development.  Canary Wharf and Qatari Diar have full responsibility for the construction and delivery of the buildings.

In April 2018, the office space was pre-let to WeWork and in February 2019 the loan was fully repaid.
