Aegon Ltd. Selects 125 West 57th Street for International Headquarters
Financial services holding company takes two full floors at Manhattan’s premier Plaza District office tower
NEW YORK, NY: August 31, 2026 – Cain, the global investment management firm, and Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners today announced that Aegon Ltd., an international financial services holding company, has selected 125 West 57th Street for its future headquarters, taking 20,600 square feet across two floors at the recently completed Plaza District office tower. Aegon previously announced plans to move its head office and legal seat to the United States and to rename the company Transamerica Inc. upon completion of the transition, which is expected to be concluded by January 1, 2028.
Recently completed, the Class A office tower in one of Midtown Manhattan’s premier business districts is the first ground-up Class A office tower delivered in Midtown’s Plaza District in more than five years. The 30-story building combines newly delivered office space with panoramic Central Park views and a full suite of tenant amenities, providing occupiers with a premium workplace in one of Manhattan’s most sought-after business locations.
Aegon joins a tenant roster that includes Anchorage Capital Advisors, Eldridge Industries, Jadian Capital, Kingdon Capital Management and AdaptHealth. Ten Five Hospitality, known for its Mother Wolf restaurants in Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, is also set to open a new concept on the ground floor.
The lease builds on the announcement of Anchorage Capital’s commitment to the building in July and follows the recent $321 million refinancing of 125 West 57th Street, provided by JPMorgan Chase as senior lender and Hudson Bay Capital as mezzanine lender.
125 West 57th Street is the first ground-up Class A office tower delivered in Midtown’s Plaza District in more than five years. Rising between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, the building offers direct views of Central Park, immediate access to Carnegie Hall, premier hotels, restaurants, retail, and transportation connections across Midtown Manhattan. The building, which is targeting LEED Gold certification, offers a full floor of tenant amenities and hospitality-led design elements.
“We are delighted to welcome Aegon to 125 West 57th Street,” said Eric Poretsky, Senior Managing Director at Cain. “Securing a tenant of Aegon’s caliber is a significant milestone for the building and further validates its position as one of the Plaza District’s premier office destinations. This lease builds on the exceptional leasing momentum we have achieved over the past several months and demonstrates the continued demand from high-quality tenants for newly delivered, best-in-class office space.”
“We are proud to welcome a company with such a strong global profile to the property. Aegon’s decision to select 125 West 57th Street as the home of its new headquarters is a significant endorsement of the building, its premier location, and its world-class offerings. It reinforces the property’s status as a top-tier destination for leading businesses in New York,” said Christopher Gherlone, Partner at Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners.
JLL’s Mitchell Konsker, Kristen Morgan, Christine Colley, Kate Roush and Dan Turkewitz represented ownership, and Barry Zeller and David Downey of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant. Michael Werner and Elias Ayoub of Fried Frank served as legal counsel for ownership and Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP represented the tenant.
