Jonathan Goldstein

Jonathan Goldstein

  • Chief Executive Officer

Jonathan Goldstein is co-founder and chief executive officer of Cain, an alternative asset manager specialising in real estate investment solutions. As of 31 March 2025, the firm managed more than $13 billion in assets across the UK, Europe and the US. Established in 2014, Cain is a partnership between Mr. Goldstein and Eldridge Industries.

Prior to Cain, Mr. Goldstein was head of European real estate and direct investments at Guggenheim Partners. He previously served for seven years as deputy chief executive of Heron International.

Before joining Heron, he worked at Olswang LLP, an award-winning international law firm. He became a partner at age 28 and one of the youngest-ever chief executives of a city law firm at age 32. Under his leadership, the firm’s revenue grew significantly and was awarded “Law Firm of the Year” on multiple occasions.

Mr. Goldstein serves on the boards of Aman, the global luxury hospitality and lifestyle brand; The St. James, a premium sports and wellness club and Delano, a distinguished luxury hospitality brand; and Chelsea Football Club and is chairman of Prezzo, a UK-based Italian dining chain, and Swingers, a competitive socializing venue offering immersive crazy golf experiences with food and drink.

He is the immediate past chairman of the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC), the umbrella organization representing the UK Jewish community. Mr. Goldstein also serves as a trustee of The Gerald & Gail Ronson Family Foundation and is an honorary president of Camp Simcha. His previous roles include chair of Partnerships for Jewish Schools (PaJeS), vice-chair of Jewish Care, and chair of governors at Kerem School.

Elizabeth Boudris

Elizabeth is Cain’s general counsel and chief compliance officer, with responsibility for the firm’s global legal and compliance programs. She also holds directorships across several Cain investments, including One Beverly Hills, The St. James and Swingers Crazy Golf’s expansion into New York.

Elizabeth has over ten years’ experience in financial services and investment management. Before joining Cain, she was in-house counsel at Eldridge Industries, a private investment firm with investments across a wide variety of industries, including real estate, hospitality and entertainment, media, and insurance.

Elizabeth also held roles at Cain Hoy Enterprises, the predecessor firm to Cain and began her legal career on the leveraged credit desk at Guggenheim Investments, the global asset management and investment advisory division of Guggenheim Partners.

Elizabeth graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and received a Juris Doctor from The University of Richmond. She was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2010 and is registered as in-house counsel in New York. Elizabeth earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation in 2013.

Lisa R Feifer

Lisa leads Cain’s global capital formation and oversees the teams existing client relationships as well as fundraising for new strategies, joint ventures and co-investment opportunities across Cain’s investment management activities.

Lisa has over 25 years of experience in real estate investing, fund management, investor relations and global capital formation.

Most recently Lisa was with Civitas Investment Management, where she was head of investor relations and capital raising. Prior to Civitas, Lisa spent over 13 years and was a partner at Orion Capital Managers, responsible for capital raising and investor relations efforts working with global institutional investors on the firms pan-European funds. Lisa has also held roles at Lehman Brothers and Grove International Partners in London, having gained experience in real estate fund management and investments at AIG and JLL in New York City.

Lisa is a trained architect and holds a Master of Real Estate and Construction Management (MRECM) from the University of Denver – Daniels College of Business and a Bachelor of Architecture (B Arch) from McGill University.

Arvi A. I. Luoma

Arvi leads Cain’s European real estate equity business and oversees the team’s strategy, operations, and investment management activities. He has more than 20 years of direct real estate investment experience across more than 20 countries in Europe as well as the US. He has invested in all major commercial asset classes including industrial & logistics, office, retail, life sciences, PBSA, healthcare and hospitality.

Previously, Arvi was Co-founder & CEO of Blackbrook Capital (‘Blackbrook’), a specialist investor focusing on future proof supply chain infrastructure including logistics investment & development as well as net lease, build to suit and sale-leaseback transactions. Blackbrook merged with Cain in 2024. Prior to that, Arvi was head of European investments at W. P. Carey.

Arvi graduated from Oxford University with a Master of Engineering in materials science, economics & management. He is a reserve officer in the Finnish Navy where he was elected chairman of the reserve officer course. He also serves as a trustee of the Teacher Development Trust.

Julie Negron

Julie is Cain’s global chief finance officer, leading on all financial and accounting activities for the firm’s investments, portfolios, structures and management business.
Before joining Cain, Julie was a managing director within J.P. Morgan’s Asset & Wealth Management business leading the finance and accounting function for the Real Estate America’s investment platform. She was responsible for the delivery of investment and operational activities for a dynamic portfolio of real estate investments offered to investors in a variety of structures and formats. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Julie began her career as a consultant for KPMG.

Julie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Kirsty Peacock

Kirsty is Cain’s chief people officer, bringing with her over 30 years of experience in the human resources (‘HR’) field. Kirsty is responsible for driving the firm’s people agenda with a focus on values, talent management, driving inclusion and building a strong HR infrastructure. She also has overall responsibility for the IT function at Cain.

Before joining Cain, Kirsty worked in several senior HR roles across a variety of sectors including real estate, financial services, legal, management consultancy and fast-moving consumer goods. Immediately prior to Cain, Kirsty worked for the law firm Lewis Silkin where she was chief people officer. Kirsty possesses a broad range of HR skills and accomplishments in organisational change, leadership development, diversity & inclusion, talent management and employee engagement.

Kirsty is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and is a qualified High Performance Coach. She holds a Bachelor of Science in business studies from The University of Edinburgh.

Eric Poretsky

Eric leads Cain’s US real estate equity business and oversees the team’s strategy, operations, and investment management activities. Eric brings over 20 years of experience in acquisitions, development and asset management and has been involved in various commercial, residential, hospitality and mixed-used assets both in the US and internationally, across both credit and equity led investments.

Previously, Eric was a senior vice president at The Witkoff Group (‘Witkoff’), a US real estate investment and development company, where he evaluated and structured real estate investments, managed operations with equity capital partners, supported capital raising and oversaw development and asset management on large scale real estate projects across all major property sectors. Prior to Witkoff, Eric held roles at Strategic Value Partners, Starwood Capital Group and Brown Brothers Harriman.

Eric holds a Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California (Berkeley) and a bachelor’s degree in mathematical economics, magna cum laude, from Colgate University.

Jacob Sigel

Jacob Sigel joined Cain in 2021 and manages the growth and development of the firm’s global private equity portfolio. This includes lifestyle and leisure-focused investments such as Aman Group, Swingers Crazy Golf, The St. James and Maslow’s Group.

Prior to joining Cain, Jacob spent 15 years at General Electric (“GE”) where he served in various corporate development capacities at GE Capital Real Estate (“GECRE”), including as a business development director, a treasury risk manager for the GECRE Capital Markets Group and a member of the corporate audit staff. Immediately prior to joining Cain, Jacob served as chief operating officer of CB Emmanuel Realty, a New York State affordable housing developer.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Joe Stelzer

Joe manages the firm’s UK private equity portfolio and Special Projects across Cain’s equity practices, drawing on a wealth of experience as both an entrepreneur with successful public and private exits and as an M&A advisor with a decade of expertise in sell-side transactions and complex restructuring. Cain’s UK portfolio investments include Swingers, Prezzo, Maslow’s Group and Allbright/Everywoman.

Before joining Cain, Joe was managing partner at Cavendish Corporate Finance, where he oversaw the firm’s day-to-day operations while also originating and leading transactions across sectors such as software, industrial technology, financial services, chemicals, aviation, consumer, and business-to-business.

Prior to Cavendish, Joe spent over 20 years building Polaron, a diverse technology group, that went public on AIM in 2004 before being acquired by the Fortune 500 US-listed Cooper Industries. Following the acquisition, he became global head of Cooper’s energy controls business, where he established and expanded its US operations through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Joe graduated from University College London with a degree in electrical and electronic engineering with computer science.

Before joining Cain, Sonja worked for Thomas Cook Group plc (‘Thomas Cook’) as business assistant to the CEO. Prior to Thomas Cook, she worked for The Walt Disney Company where she spent 12 years in both the Cruise Line and Parks & Resorts divisions in roles including operations, administration, office management and training.

Sonja holds a Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Human Resources from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She is a keen horse rider and has volunteered for charities such as the Make a Wish Foundation and Over The Wall.

Ellen Hooper-Doku

Ellen is the office manager for Cain’s London office and provides executive support to several members of Cain’s senior leadership team, including the CEO.

Ellen brings with her years of experience as an administrator, having previously worked as a team assistant for Bird & Bird LLP in their intellectual property department. Prior to this, Ellen spent 13 years as a personal assistant to the managing director of Foster & Cranfield, a specialist financial auctioneer.

Ellen is passionate about volunteering for various causes and regularly works with Crisis, the UK national charity for homeless people, and the NHS. Her proudest moment, outside of the office, is having performed in the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics.

Before joining Cain, Alexa worked at Panagram Structured Asset Management as an executive assistant and office manager. Alexa has also held roles at Eldridge Industries.

Alexa holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Bachelor of Arts in communication, with a focus on personal and professional development from SUNY Geneseo. Alexa is a commissioned Notary Public in The State of New York.

Devon is the office manager for Cain’s New York office and provides administrative support to Cain’s U.S. real estate equity team.

Previously, Devon worked at Lenox Advisors, having joined from Northwestern Mutual, where she held the role of Associate Financial Representative & Operations Manager.

Devon has worked with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Arkansas, acting on the Honorary Race Committee as Survivor Race Chair. She studied history at the University of Arkansas.

Larry leads Cain’s development and operations of One Beverly Hills, a 17.5-acre mixed-use urban resort in Los Angeles that includes the iconic Beverly Hilton, the Waldorf Astoria, and an Aman Hotel, Residences & Club.

Before joining Cain, Larry served as executive vice president of US development at Westfield (Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield), where he played a key role in expanding their portfolio from a few properties to one of the most valuable real estate portfolios in the world. He played a critical role in the transformation of the company’s award-winning properties including Westfield Century City, Topanga, Culver City, UTC, Roseville, San Francisco Center, & Valley Fair.

Larry is a graduate of the University of Southern California and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (‘ICSC’) and the Urban Land Institute (‘ULI’). He has been an active participant in a variety of charitable organizations and LA public schools. Today he serves on the Board of Directors of LA Sports & Entertainment Commission, Beverly Hills Rotary Club, Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue, and the US Maccabiah Games.

Brent is an executive vice president of commercial leasing on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles, responsible for growing the retail portfolio at One Beverly Hills.

Before joining Cain, Brent previously served as senior vice president of leasing at Westfield (Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield), where he oversaw the merchandising strategy and leasing for multibillion-dollar, iconic developments including UTC in La Jolla, Topanga in Los Angeles, Valley Fair in San Jose, and the World Trade Center in New York City. He brings more than 30 years of commercial leasing experience with prominent developers and luxury partnerships having also previously held executive positions at Howard Hughes Corporation and Brookfield Properties.

Brent holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. degree from Carleton College.

Frank is an Executive Vice President at Cain Development based in Los Angeles. He leads the design and development processes for Cain Development projects across the country, with a strong focus on the national St. James platform.

Frank brings over thirty years of deep expertise in architecture, construction, and real estate development to Cain’s growing portfolio. He has overseen the planning, entitlement, and development of more than 3 million square feet of mixed-use, residential, office, and retail projects, consistently delivering transformative, high-impact developments across complex urban markets.

Before joining Cain, Frank served as President of the Nevada Region for Howard Hughes Holdings, where he oversaw the 22,500-acre master planned community of Summerlin and created five- and ten-year development plans for the remaining 5,000 acres of undeveloped land. He also played a key role in expanding The Clarett Group’s West Coast presence, delivering over 1.2 million square feet of mixed-use development in Los Angeles. Projects on both coasts include Eastown and El Centro – two of the highest density residential developments on Hollywood Blvd., and 9735 Washington Boulevard, a mixed-use development that helped spur the redevelopment of downtown Culver City, CA, and the 42nd Street Theatre Row Project – a mixed-use project that included 264 residential units and 6 Off-Broadway theatres in NYC.

Frank is a member of the Urban Land Institute and has served on the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and the Hollywood Business Improvement District. He holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development and Investment from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Columbia University.

Matthew Morgan

Matthew joined Cain International in 2022 to facilitate and manage documentation delivery for its One Beverly Hills project, within the Cain Development team in Los Angeles. Matthew’s responsibilities include managing the key design, engineering, and documentation strategies for the development, as well as the integration with construction activities and timelines.

Before joining Cain International, Matthew worked for over 22 years at Westfield as Senior Vice President of Project Delivery, where he was responsible for management of Architectural and Engineering for all Southern California based major developments.

Matthew received his five year professional degree in architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture in 1997.

Cathy Burrell

Cathy leads the project finance and accounting for One Beverly Hills within Cain’s development team in Los Angeles.

Before joining Cain, Cathy worked at Westfield (Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield) as a senior vice president of design, development, and construction & airports, where she was responsible for management of the finance and accounting activities of their U.S. development pipeline. This included over $4 billion of flagship properties including Westfield Century City, Valley Fair, UTC (San Diego) and World Trade Center (NY).

Cathy holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California and has completed an executive leadership program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She is also a board member and treasurer of a non-profit swim club in Southern California.

Lauren Eckhart Smith

Lauren is a senior vice president on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles and is part of the executive team leading the delivery of One Beverly Hills.

Before joining Cain, Lauren served as the co-head of the occupier services group at Lincoln Property Company (‘Lincoln’) in Los Angeles. Prior to Lincoln, Lauren held roles at Georgetown Company and IAC. Lauren also has deep international expertise, having previously served as the global head of workplace operations at Bloomberg LP where she managed an operations team of 190 employees.

Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in applied arts in interior design from Ryerson University in Toronto as well as a Master of Science in real estate from Columbia University in New York.

David Nelson

David Nelson is a development director on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles. In this role, David is responsible for land-use and governmental matters, acts as the project’s primary liaison with city planning staff, and oversees the renovation of the iconic Beverly Hilton. David is also leading the project’s efforts to establish a community facilities district (CFD), the second such infrastructure funding district formed in the City of Beverly Hills.
Before joining Cain, David founded was president and CEO of Meridian West Associates, LLC, a real estate advisory firm that consulted on projects in Los Angeles, San Diego and Chicago. David has also held senior roles at the AG Spanos Companies, Vulcan Inc., Playa Vista, the Walt Disney Company, and the Trammell Crow Company where he played a key role in the delivery of projects valued in excess of $7 billion.

David was appointed to the Board of the California Partnership of the San Joaquin Valley by Governor Schwarzenegger and continued his service under Governor Jerry Brown. He has also served as a board member for the San Joaquin Partnership, the California Infill Builders Federation, and the Building Industry Association of the Greater Valley (BIAGV).

David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan. In 2016, David was awarded the Outstanding Alpine Patroller in the Nation and continues to serve as an instructor for the National Ski Patrol.

Before joining Cain, Natlie worked for CBAM Partners as an office manager. Natalie has also held roles at Eldridge Industries.

Natalie holds a Bachelor of Science in business management from Pepperdine University and is a member of the Betta Gamma Sigma honors society.

Diana Greenroad

Diana is a project manager on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles, working closely with Brent Habeck on the commercial leasing efforts of One Beverly Hills.

Before joining Cain, Diana worked for Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield as a sales operations manager, where she oversaw process optimisations and system enhancements for all enterprise leasing systems. Diana has spent much of her career with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield within the leasing department and is proud of the work she did as a leasing associate on the $1.1BN redevelopment of Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose.

Diana holds a Bachelor of Arts in physics from Mount Holyoke College.

DeAndre Candler is a Receptionist/Facilities Manager at Cain Development’s LA office.

Before joining Cain, DeAndre worked for Allied Universal as a Post Commander, following earlier roles as an Armed Security Guard, Front Desk Security Officer, Staffing Specialist, and Regional Recruiter.

With over 16 years of experience in the security industry, DeAndre brings deep operational insight and leadership to the team.

Scott Priester

Scott is a vice president on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles.

Before joining Cain, Scott worked for over 12 years at Westfield (Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield) as a senior director of tenant coordination where he was responsible for leading the tenant coordination team for the company’s West Coast portfolio as well as being an instrumental part of several developments including Westfield Century City Mall. Prior to Westfield, Scott worked for a consulting firm.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Bachelor of Science in finance from Auburn University.

Alan is a vice president of development on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles.

Before joining Cain, Alan worked for Lincoln Property Company as a senior vice president. Alan has also held roles at Barker Pacific Group and Bovis Lend Lease.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

Charlie Hollingsworth

Before joining Cain, Alvin worked for Gensler as a senior project architect and technical director.

Michael Salvato

Michael Salvato is a Vice President of Design on Cain’s team in Los Angeles.

Before joining Cain, Michael was a Senior Associate at Gensler, leading their Hospitality Studio as a Director and Senior Project Architect.

Michael is a member of the American Institute of Architects and a Registered Architect in the State of California. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California.

Bernadette Agcaoili

Bernadette is a senior project manager on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles.

Prior to joining Cain, Bernadette worked as a senior project manager for Haas Consulting Group. She has also worked a private consulting firm.

Bernadette holds a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and a certificate in retail design from Central Saint Martins in London.

Brittany Knott

Brittany is a senior design director on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles.

Before joining Cain, Brittany worked for several private land development engineering firms as a senior project manager and engineer, where she was responsible for managing a team of engineers and providing design leadership and coordination through all phases of a project from conceptual design through construction while also overseeing project schedules, budgets, and client relationships. Her projects ranged from large retail developments to multi-family residential, healthcare campuses, and commercial spaces.

Brittany is a licensed professional engineer in the State of California. Brittany holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Loyola Marymount University.

Glenn Olbes

Glenn is a senior design manager on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles.

Before joining Cain, Glenn worked for URW (Westfield) as a director of design and construction technologies. Glenn has also held roles at Landon Wilson Architects.

Glenn holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial design from ITT and a Bachelor of Architecture from California State University, Pomona.

Joejohn is a senior design director on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles.

Jacob Sigel joined Cain in 2021 and manages the growth and development of the firm’s global private equity portfolio. This includes lifestyle and leisure-focused investments such as Aman Group, Swingers Crazy Golf, The St. James and Maslow’s Group.

Prior to joining Cain, Jacob spent 15 years at General Electric (“GE”) where he served in various corporate development capacities at GE Capital Real Estate (“GECRE”), including as a business development director, a treasury risk manager for the GECRE Capital Markets Group and a member of the corporate audit staff. Immediately prior to joining Cain, Jacob served as chief operating officer of CB Emmanuel Realty, a New York State affordable housing developer.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Joe Stelzer

Joe Stelzer

Joe manages the firm’s UK private equity portfolio and Special Projects across Cain’s equity practices, drawing on a wealth of experience as both an entrepreneur with successful public and private exits and as an M&A advisor with a decade of expertise in sell-side transactions and complex restructuring. Cain’s UK portfolio investments include Swingers, Prezzo, Maslow’s Group and Allbright/Everywoman.

Before joining Cain, Joe was managing partner at Cavendish Corporate Finance, where he oversaw the firm’s day-to-day operations while also originating and leading transactions across sectors such as software, industrial technology, financial services, chemicals, aviation, consumer, and business-to-business.

Prior to Cavendish, Joe spent over 20 years building Polaron, a diverse technology group, that went public on AIM in 2004 before being acquired by the Fortune 500 US-listed Cooper Industries. Following the acquisition, he became global head of Cooper’s energy controls business, where he established and expanded its US operations through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Joe graduated from University College London with a degree in electrical and electronic engineering with computer science.

Prior to joining Cain, Sam worked for BDO as an assistant manager.

Arvi leads Cain’s European real estate equity business and oversees the team’s strategy, operations, and investment management activities. He has more than 20 years of direct real estate investment experience across more than 20 countries in Europe as well as the US. He has invested in all major commercial asset classes including industrial & logistics, office, retail, life sciences, PBSA, healthcare and hospitality.

Previously, Arvi was Co-founder & CEO of Blackbrook Capital (‘Blackbrook’), a specialist investor focusing on future proof supply chain infrastructure including logistics investment & development as well as net lease, build to suit and sale-leaseback transactions. Blackbrook merged with Cain in 2024. Prior to that, Arvi was head of European investments at W. P. Carey.

Arvi graduated from Oxford University with a Master of Engineering in materials science, economics & management. He is a reserve officer in the Finnish Navy where he was elected chairman of the reserve officer course. He also serves as a trustee of the Teacher Development Trust.

Eric Poretsky

Eric leads Cain’s US real estate equity business and oversees the team’s strategy, operations, and investment management activities. Eric brings over 20 years of experience in acquisitions, development and asset management and has been involved in various commercial, residential, hospitality and mixed-used assets both in the US and internationally, across both credit and equity led investments.

Previously, Eric was a senior vice president at The Witkoff Group (‘Witkoff’), a US real estate investment and development company, where he evaluated and structured real estate investments, managed operations with equity capital partners, supported capital raising and oversaw development and asset management on large scale real estate projects across all major property sectors. Prior to Witkoff, Eric held roles at Strategic Value Partners, Starwood Capital Group and Brown Brothers Harriman.

Eric holds a Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California (Berkeley) and a bachelor’s degree in mathematical economics, magna cum laude, from Colgate University.

John Basting

John Basting is a senior vice president on Cain’s real estate equity team in New York.

Before joining Cain, John worked for Global Hospitality Investment Group (GHIG) as a vice president. John has also held roles at Kingdom Hotels, Cushman & Wakefield, Hospitality Real Estate Counselors (HREC), and JPMorgan.

John is an active member in the Cornell Hotel Society and Lodging Industry Investment Council. John holds a Bachelor of Science from The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University where he also received a minor in real estate.

Tom Bates

Tom joined Cain in 2020 specialising in U.K. and European equity investment and asset management.

Before joining Cain, Tom worked for The Blackstone Group as a portfolio manager. He was responsible for the asset management of large mixed-use estates and office assets across the U.K. and Europe, with a primary focus on central London. Prior to that, Tom worked for Workman LLP as a senior surveyor.

Tom is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography from The University of Exeter, specialising in human geography, as well as a post graduate diploma in surveying from the University of Reading.

Tim Brazier

Tim is a senior vice president on Cain’s real estate equity team in London.

Before joining Cain, Tim worked with Ernst & Young, LLP’s real estate corporate finance team for five years and was part of the M&A and capital raising team advising institutional and private companies.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in accounting and finance from the University of Warwick and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2016. He previously volunteered with Kevin ‘The Lion Whisperer’ Richardson on his lion reserve in South Africa, promoting animal welfare and preservation.

Matteo is a charter holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute and holds a Master of Science in structural engineering from UNSW Australia.

Oliver is a managing director within Cain’s European real estate team and leads the firm’s origination and investment in PBSA across the U.K. and Europe. Oliver has 15 years of experience in PBSA investment and development experience extending to over 16,000 beds in the UK, Spain and Portugal.

Before joining Cain, Oliver worked for W.P. Carey as an investment officer and head of European student housing asset management, where he was responsible for the acquisition, development, financing, delivery, asset management and disposal of over 10,500 beds throughout the U.K., Spain and Portugal. Prior to W.P. Carey, Oliver specialised in PBSA at Dartmoor Capital Management.

Oliver holds a Bachelor of Science in land management from the University of Reading.

Before joining Cain, Kate worked for Edge Principal Advisers as a senior associate, where she was responsible for asset management and acquisition underwriting. Prior to Edge Principal Advisors, Kate held roles at The JBG Companies and Real Estate Capital Partners.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and urban planning from the University of Virginia (‘UVA’) and a Master of Business Administration from UVA’s Darden School of Business.

Jon is a managing director on Cain’s European real estate equity team and leads the investment team working on the Blackbrook Capital portfolio.

Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Clarion Partners, an investment manager specialising in industrial properties in Europe. Jon has structured more than €2 billion of Sale-Leaseback, Build to Suit, Net Lease and Spec development investments in the UK, Nordics, Germany, France, Benelux, Iberia, Italy and CEE. Previously he had worked at J. P. Morgan Cazenove in its investment banking division where he covered diversified industrial companies and the mining sector.

Jon graduated with first-class honours from Oxford University with a Master of Engineering in engineering science.

Ben Tooley

Ben is a managing director within Cain’s European real estate equity team. With close to 30 years of experience in real estate, Ben has worked for contractors, consultants, developers and lenders on developments across several sectors, including living, offices and hotels.

Before joining Cain, Ben worked for Summix Capital and Marick Real Estate, where his remit included leading on all aspects of development lifecycles, from origination to operational assets. He has been responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of developments including the extensive modernisation of Bush House, the mixed-use redevelopment of Brixton Town Hall, city offices on Fenchurch Street and a modular hotel in Manchester. Prior to Summix Capital and Marick Real Estate, Ben held roles at JLL and Lendlease.

Ben is a member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and holds a Batchelor of Science (Honours) degree in construction management.
