David Nelson

Development Director

David Nelson is a development director on Cain’s development team in Los Angeles. In this role, David is responsible for land-use and governmental matters, acts as the project’s primary liaison with city planning staff, and oversees the renovation of the iconic Beverly Hilton. David is also leading the project’s efforts to establish a community facilities district (CFD), the second such infrastructure funding district formed in the City of Beverly Hills.

Before joining Cain, David founded was president and CEO of Meridian West Associates, LLC, a real estate advisory firm that consulted on projects in Los Angeles, San Diego and Chicago. David has also held senior roles at the AG Spanos Companies, Vulcan Inc., Playa Vista, the Walt Disney Company, and the Trammell Crow Company where he played a key role in the delivery of projects valued in excess of $7 billion.
David was appointed to the Board of the California Partnership of the San Joaquin Valley by Governor Schwarzenegger and continued his service under Governor Jerry Brown. He has also served as a board member for the San Joaquin Partnership, the California Infill Builders Federation, and the Building Industry Association of the Greater Valley (BIAGV).

David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan. In 2016, David was awarded the Outstanding Alpine Patroller in the Nation and continues to serve as an instructor for the National Ski Patrol.
