Cain and Olympian Mark Milestone Topping Out of Cirrus Point The World’s Tallest PBSA Only Scheme

Leeds, October 31 – Cain and Olympian Homes have marked the topping out of Cirrus Point, a landmark 45-storey, 134-metre development that will become the world’s tallest purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) only development and the tallest building in Leeds.

Located in the heart of the city, Cirrus Point will deliver 633 high-quality student beds with over 9,000 sq. ft of amenity space., including a gym, yoga studio, cinema, games room, co-working and group dining areas, and a rooftop terrace offering panoramic views across Leeds.

“Cirrus Point will stand as a landmark of quality and ambition within the UK’s student sector and create a strong communal experience for its residents.” said Oliver Cummings, Managing Director, Head of PBSA, Europe at Cain. “The topping out marks a major milestone for our partnership with Olympian Homes and reflects the strong collaboration between our teams, combining Cain’s investment platform with Olympian’s development expertise to create student accommodation that truly enhances the city and the student experience.”

This achievement follows the successful partnership between Cain and Olympian, most recently demonstrated in July through the completion of Rialto House in York, a 275-bed PBSA development offering high-quality amenities and an exceptional student living experience. The collaboration continues with the acquisition of St James House in Bristol, which, once redeveloped, will become the city’s tallest tower, delivering a standout student accommodation scheme with premium amenity space and community-focused design, further reflecting the shared commitment of both partners.

“Cirrus Point highlights the strength of our partnership with Cain,” said James Lindridge, COO & Development Director at Olympian Homes. “The scheme reflects our shared commitment to delivering premium, sustainable, and design-led student accommodation that will shape the Leeds skyline and enhance the student experience and well-being. We look forward to continuing this collaboration with upcoming projects, including the redevelopment of St James House in Bristol.”

Cain has continued to grow its student accommodation platform across the UK, delivering high-quality, sustainable living environments at scale, with plans to expand across Europe. Recent completions include modern schemes in Liverpool, York and Nottingham, all offering well-designed, amenity-rich, and community-focused living spaces.

With the projected delivery of around 3,000 beds by the end of 2028, these initiatives demonstrate a clear commitment to meeting rising student demand while delivering long-term value for investors, universities, and the cities in which it operates. This reinforces its position as a leading force in the PBSA sector, driven by the ability to deliver at scale, unlock value in key university cities, and anticipate the evolving needs of students and universities.
